The Logan Table pantry helps students and families in need

“”Logan High School has been approved as a Hunger Task Force Food Pantry Distribution site. As a result, the school has opened The Logan Table, an in-school food pantry.

The Logan Table pantry was set up for students and families who may have barriers to accessing food for their home. The pantry is maintained by Logan High School staff members. The Logan Table is stocked with items provided by The Hunger Task Force, staff and community donations, and grant funds.

Logan High School students can access the pantry and pick up items during the regular school day and after school with help from any Logan High School teacher. Local residents in the northside neighborhoods around Logan High School can also get pantry items by coming to the school at the end of the school day starting at 3:20 p.m. on Thursdays until 4:00 p.m.

To further help families heading into the district’s extended Memorial Day weekend, The Logan Table will hold a special pantry event today, May 25, from 3:20-5:20 p.m. in room 223 at Logan High School, located at 1500 Ranger Drive in La Crosse.

“We will have canned and boxed goods in the pantry all the time,” said Logan High School teacher Tricia Gibbons. “We will have a pantry refrigerator soon so that we can keep produce, dairy, and meats as well. During Thursday’s pantry hours we will, however, have fresh produce, dairy products, and baked goods as well as canned and boxed foods for families to choose from.”

Pantry staff are currently making plans to have The Logan Table accessible during select times this summer. “”””[vc_single_image image=”12114″ img_size=”625×417″ alignment=”center”]””
