Hamilton students discover the alphabet through food

“”Hamilton Elementary School students had the opportunity to taste the alphabet during the school’s annual ABC Feast.

Students were able to try foods representing every letter of the alphabet. Edamame, kiwi, lefse, and yams were just a few of the surprises for students during the feast. The event helped grow students’ food vocabulary, provides them with cultural variety, and let them try different foods they may not otherwise have a chance to enjoy.

“We feel honored to continue this tradition for the children and to grow the event as our school continues to grow,” said kindergarten teacher Traci Schneider. “The feast brings our school together as a community. The children love the food and special time with friends and teachers and the staff really enjoy getting to host a unique treat for our kids.”

The feast was possible due to donations of food, funds, and time from the Hamilton families and staff. Older Hamilton students also lent a hand by serving to the younger students during the event.””””[vc_gallery type=”flexslider_slide” interval=”0″ images=”13092,13105,13090,13098,13095,13093,13096,13097,13101,13099,13100,13102,13106,13114,13104,13108,13109,13113,13103,13110,13115,13111,13112″ img_size=”617×425″]””
