“”Spence Elementary School recently got a makeover.
Through its Good Neighbor Program, Bimbo Bakeries, USA (BBU) donated $5,000 to the school to support a beautification project to improve the appearance of the exterior of the building. The project allows for new landscaping at the main entrance of the school.
“We feel that it helps students understand the importance of school and by improving the appearance gives them more pride in their school,” said Rick Timbush, Bimbo Bakeries, USA operation supervisor. “It shows appreciation for all the hard work that the teachers do and it helps take some financial burden off of the school by making improvements that wouldn’t normally be possible due to budget constraints.”
Volunteers from BBU and the School District of La Crosse worked together to start and complete the project during a single morning at Spence Elementary School.
The BBU Good Neighbor Program was started by BBU as a way to get involved, give back, and develop communities through volunteer efforts and donations.“”””[vc_single_image image=”12479″ img_size=”625×417″ alignment=”center”]””
