LA CROSSE, Wis., (July 28, 2020) – The extended registration deadline for the Coulee Region Virtual Academy (CRVA) ends this Sunday, August 2, 2020. Nearly 900 students in just the School District of La Crosse have already registered for the CRVA, a tuition-free academy for students enrolled in the public school districts of La Crosse, Bangor, West Salem, Onalaska, and Holmen. Students who sign up for the CRVA remain enrolled in their current school.
In the coming weeks, district staff will provide technology (tablets or laptops depending on grade level) for all K-12 La Crosse students to facilitate virtual learning. If families have internet connectivity issues, the district will continue to work with them to provide access solutions.

District administration continues to work and plan for a successful start to the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. At this time, the School District of La Crosse will be opening virtually this fall for all students, 4K-12, for at least the month of September. When students and staff do return to in-person learning, masks will be required for all students in grades 1-12 and staff (except for those with necessary restrictions) in all phases of the La Crosse County Health Department COVID-19 Compass.
District administration understands that this decision is very difficult for many families and are doing everything possible to safely provide the best possible educational environment for all students and staff. More details will continue to be released in the coming days and weeks. Please continue to visit the district’s website, www.lacrosseschools.org, for FAQs and continued updates.
