Community members looking for a new career path will get a helping hand from three local groups. As part of their ongoing collaboration efforts, the City of La Crosse, La Crosse County, and the School District of La Crosse will be hosting a career fair on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, from 2:30 to 6:00 P.M. at the Southside Neighborhood Center located at 1300 6th Street South in La Crosse.
The career fair is free and open to the public. It will allow interested participants to meet with hiring managers and become more familiar with career opportunities offered by the School District of La Crosse, La Crosse County and the City of La Crosse.
Examples of positions routinely needing to be hired include information technology, food nutrition, nursing home services, bus operators, mechanics, clerical support, social work, teacher assistants, custodial services, and substitute staff.
“Our organizations have been working very closely over the past eight years in order to maximize efficiencies, professionally develop staff, and problem-solve complex issues facing the community,” said Director of Human Resources for the School District of La Crosse Mark White. “The career fair is another positive example of this collaboration helping our community to grow even stronger.”
